Mapping Survey Published

Mapping the infrastructure of the Historic and Contemporary Built Environment

September 2006

The mapping survey announced in February 2006 to identify non-governmental organisations operating within the historic and built environment sector in Scotland has been published. The study maps and describes the infrastructure associated with organisations with an interest in the historic and contemporary environment. The survey was undertaken by Jura Consultants and provides information on remit, funding and activities. The survey was commissioned by a partnership comprising HEACS, Historic Scotland, and the Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS).

The role of HEACS in this study was to obtain information about the infrastructure of the historic environment sector in Scotland. HEACS will reconvene its working group, which will use this survey report as the basis for the next stage of its work, with a view to producing a report and recommendations for the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport.
