Report on 2005 Annual Conference and Public Meeting

February 2006

Council's annual conference was held at the Pollock Halls, Edinburgh on 22 September. The theme for the conference was The Historic Environment in Care. Over one hundred people attended.

Following a video presentation by Patricia Ferguson, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport, there were talks by Peter Bromley, Director of Properties in Care, Historic Scotland, Robin Turner, Head of Archaeology, National Trust for Scotland, Prof. Charles McKean, University of Dundee/Member of HEACS, and Dr Anna Ritchie, an independent archaeologist.

Council's Annual Report for 2004-2005 was also published.

A Public Meeting followed the conference. Reports were presented by Council on its work and an open forum session was held. The meeting was attended by about 25 members of the public who raised a variety of issues.
