Mr Ian Johnson

Mr Ian Johnson is Manager of the Ayrshire Joint Structure Plan and Transportation Committee.

He has been working in local government since 1970 and has worked on a wide variety of heritage related projects throughout his career, including as serving as Principal Planner (Heritage) for the former Strathclyde Regional Council.

He is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Scottish Society of Directors of Planning. He is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries (Scotland), a member of the Garden History Society (Scotland) Scottish Gardens Advisory Group and the Scottish Government's Historic Land Use Assessment Group. He is a member of the Forestry Commission (Scotland) South Scotland Regional Forestry Forum and sits on the Evaluation Panel of the Forestry Commission (Scotland) National Forest Evaluation Panel. He has been appointed as a member of the Scottish Rural Development Programme, Regional Proposal Assessment Committee for Ayrshire.
